Located in Lavern, Alberta on the Blood Reserve, the Aahsaopi Elementary School provides educational opportunities for students of the Blood Tribe from kindergarten to grade 5. This existing facility no longer meets the required capacity to meet the enrollment needs of the community or the functional requirements identified by staff and students. After an in-depth analysis of several options, it was determined that constructing a new elementary school facility is the most viable option. This allows the existing school to remain operating during construction, so that no disruption to student learning occurs.
